Team Guandalini Racing newsletter
Due to the serious economic crisis and late payments by the main sponsor, Team Guandalini will participate in the tenth race event at Brno with only one rider, Jakub Smrz. This very difficult decision was taken by Team Managers in order to curtail costs and give the promising Czech rider the best possible chance to be able to finish the season, concentrating all their energies on him. After the last round at Donington Park, despite only gaining seven points, Jakub now occupies the eighth spot in the overall classification, only 26 points behind Tom Sykes on the factory Yamaha. The Brno weekend will be an important one for Team Guandalini as most of the spectators will be there to support the local hero, Jakub Smrz. All eyes will be on the Ducati 1198, number 96, and even though the team did not take part in recent tests at Brno and Imola, the crew and Czech rider will give their all so as not to disappoint fans and sponsors that continue to believe in the project, carried on with passion and dedication by Mirco Guandalini’s Bolognese squad.

The track measures 5403.09 metres, with 14 corners, 6 left-hand and 8 right-hand. The track is particular, not only for its width (nearly 15 metres), but also for the steep climb at the end of the track, nearly a kilometer in length, that has a gradient of 7.52%, and leads up to the final corner and finish straight.

Jakub Smrz

“Last race in Donington wasn't really good and I had first crash from Valencia race. But that's racing and now I am looking forward to rest of the season because championship is very close now and every point is important. Home race in Brno is always very difficult because Brno isn't the best track but I am happy to race infront of home crowd which is getting better. For now I can't say what's possibble to do there but I'd like to do my best to fight for another podium. “
