PSG-1 CORSE TEAM: Valencia WSBk Race Report
April 06 2009
TEAM PSG-1 CORSE
Superbike World Championship 2009
Round 3: Valencia (Spain) 3-5 April
Friday – 1st Qualifying session
After two non-european rounds which the PSG-1 Corse team decided to use as tests collecting the first information after the winter stop, the team of San Marino face the first European round which will be disputed at Ricardo Tormo’s track in Valencia, Spain.
The development and research on the Kawasaki ZX-10R starts to give the first good results nearing the team to its standard.
The young riders Matteo Baiocco from Osimo and Ayrton Badovini from Biella are quite satisfied of the day, unfortunately a technical problem compromised the free practice session of Badovini.
Both riders noticed a great improvement after they increased the axle shaft length during the free practice session. This change gives more stability to the Kawasaki ZX-10R and more feeling to the riders.
Saturday – Superpole
It has been a sunny day at Ricardo Tormo’s track in Valencia where the PSG-1 Corse team has been tormented by an important chattering that the team is still trying to reduce by modifying the suspension’s set up and valuating the right tyre choice.
The riders of the team of San Marino, Ayrton Badovini and Matteo Baiocco accused the problem expecially coming out of bends where they lose a lot of speediness.
Ayrton Badovini’s team has already thought about the possible changes to do, including the substitution of the swing arm a strategy for tomorrow’s warm up, while Matteo Baiocco’s team will focus on tyre choice and suspensions.
