Team Guandalini Racing newsletter

Last intercontinental transfer for the World Superbike Championship, on the wonderful circuit, in United States, of Miller Motorsports Park. The track is located in Utah State, not so far from Salt Lake City, site of Olympic Winter Games in 2002, set in a fantastic landscape frame, surrounded by very high white mountains and salt lakes.  The course has four possible configurations in function of the bike or cars in competition and in our case, the lenght is 4905 meters with the main straight that measuring over 1 kilometre. Last year in occasion of debut of this circuit, Team Guandalini had obtained a very good sixth place in race 1 while in race 2, Jakub Smrz has been disqualified for to be exit when pit lane was already closed.

Jakub Smrz
“Racing weekend at Kyalami wasn't that bad considering I wasn't testing there like most of top guys. After good qualifying I was hoping for more points but after Xaus crashed in me in race 1 I managed to finish just 14th and race 2 I made 10th after bad start. Now we are 13th in championship and really close to 8th position what gives me lot of motivation for upcoming race at Miller Park. Last year I made one of my best races finishing 6th after problems with traction control so this year I'd like to be aiming for even higher positions. But I have to look at champioship position and now the most important is to score points without any DNFs.”

“I’m very honored to come back in this Championship with a Team and bike so competitive like Ducati 1198 and Guandalini’s Team. I know that the situation it’s not easy but i hope to find a good feeling with bike for help both myself and Kuba and Team to achieve the target. I’ll do all i can in this race to get great satisfactions.”
