I purchased my 2016 FJ-09 with the Growler already installed. Sound: makes the bike sound like a race bike. The CP3 engine sounds particularly good to start with and this just emphasizes the best notes in the exhaust. That said, I got the DB-killer because I use the bike for extended travel, and after an hour that much sound will wear on you. The DB-killer brings down the sound 3 dB which may not sound like much, but if you know anything about the logarithmic scale, it is a 50% decrease in energy. Perceptually, 3 dB is one good step down in loudness and not what you would call ‘half as loud’.

I have had the bike coming up on two years now and I believe the full exhaust was on the bike for most of its life of 25000 miles. It is still in good condition. The pipes have a nice gold/bronze color with a few blue spots from the heat. The muffler itself is 100% and the sticker is not pealing. My one issue is a spring holding the manifold to the exhaust header broke. Asked Hotbodies for a replacement just moments ago so I don’t have a report on their response.
